LOCAL TEENS PROVIDE FREE TECH SUPPORT TO LONG BEACH SENIORS
The Heart of Ida Hosts Intergenerational Drop-In Tech Days

June 27, 2022 (Long Beach, CA) – Teens from two Long Beach high schools came together at the Long Beach
Senior Center this week to offer their tech support skills to senior citizens struggling to set up or use their
smart phones, tablets, and laptops.

Dozens of seniors stopped into the drop-in tech day to ask questions about setting up their systems, sending
emails, using social media, and more. The two-hour clinic was sponsored by The Heart of Ida, a Long Beach
non-profit organization that supports local seniors in need with programs and services that sustain
independence and connection.

Says Heart of Ida Co-Founder Dina Berg, “Not only do these tech days ensure that seniors can connect with
friends, family, and the outside world via email and social media, preventing the dangerous consequences of
social isolation, but they also bring together two unique generations for a meaningful, interesting, and
respectful exchange.”

The Heart of Ida hosts dozens of tech days throughout the year in locations accessible to seniors across the
city. Follow The Heart of Ida on social media or visit www.theheartofida.org for more information.
