Fall Risk

The number one reason older adults lose their independence is due to a fall.

In fact, older adults experience a greater risk of falling than the rest of the population. According to the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), falls among older Californians lead to 41% of injury that result in death and 70% of injuries that cause hospitalization.

Take the self-assessment:

Occasional Free Balance & Fall-Risk Screenings
• a brief survey
• a series of physical tests conducted by a trained professional, resulting in a score that ranks the client’s likelihood of a fall.
The screening identifies the source of fall risk and provides concrete actions to correct those risks.

Find dates on the Event page or ask your facility to schedule a fall-risk screening with The Heart of Ida.
