Put Your Skills to Use Helping Seniors in Long Beach!

The Heart of Ida is a local non-profit agency helping
older, low- to moderate-income seniors in Long Beach to preserve their independence – and you can help!

Decide how, when, and where you can help – Heart of Ida will train in senior safety, provide background checks, and insure you!

Volunteers are needed in the following programs, days and times vary, please inquire:

 

Safe At Home
Volunteers with minor-home-repair experience, tool skills, and tools are needed for the following:
· Make minor repairs in-home
· Install grab bars and other safety tools in-home

Ida’s Walkers program needs help walking dogs in various Long Beach neighborhoods. Volunteers are required to have previous pet care (dog and/or cat) experience including dog walking, feeding, and/or light grooming (bathing and brushing).

Tech Days
Volunteers (English, Spanish, Korean. Cambodian, Chinese speakers) to teach older adults one-on-one in a casual, setting how to use social media or features on a range of devices such as cell phones and tablets.
