Daily mail and phone calls once provided a source of personal connection for many seniors, but the rise of the digital age has led to a decrease in physical letters and personal phone calls. This can be especially isolating for the many senior citizens who have not joined the digital revolution. The Heart of Ida provides one-on-one technology support, often connecting seniors with tech-savvy high school students to set up and navigate their Chromebooks, laptops, tablets, and smart phones. The Heart of Ida team is also available to help seniors with common issues like connecting to the internet, using email, completing online applications, and more. Support is available during Digital Inclusion Tech Days and drop-in office hours at The Heart of Ida’s office in the Long Beach Senior Center.
